Dan Ovadya is the Co-founder and CEO of FloraGen LLC, an AgTech company based in Davis, California. Dan has
over 30 years of experience in crop optimization, precision horticulture and seed production systems in controlled
environments. His career in Ag-Biotech centered on developing methods to accelerate breeding systems, enable rapid product development, and increase genetic gain across 20 different grain and vegetable crops in controlled environment facilities. Dan’s work helped create over $1B in genetic gain and early product launches for the global AgTech industry. Since founding FloraGen, the company has developed a suite of new technologies for controlled environment agriculture including their proprietary climate platform for precision crop models and greenhouse specifications as well as their proprietary CIMR feminized breeding system and seed manufacturing platform for Cannabis sativa spp. FloraGen also provides scientific advisory services for a range of small and large companies in the AgTech space.
