The Letter of Intent (LOI) portal opens November 12, 2025, with submissions due by December 15, 2025. Applicants with an accepted LOI may submit full proposals beginning January 14, 2026, with a final deadline of March 4, 2026.

2026 Student Research Award Program
The Institute of Cannabis Research (ICR) is pleased to announce donor-supported Student Research Awards for Summer 2026. These competitive awards support undergraduate and graduate students conducting original cannabis research aligned with ICR priority areas, including medical and clinical research, public health and safety, pharmacology, societal impacts, biology and physiology, plant science, biotechnology, and economic impacts.
Award Amounts:
- Up to $7,500 for undergraduate students
- Up to $10,000 for graduate students
- Research must be conducted between May 18 – August 31, 2026
Eligibility: Students enrolled at a Colorado institution with a qualified mentor, demonstrated financial need, and minimum GPA of 3.0 (undergraduate) or 3.5 (graduate).
Application Deadline: February 20, 2026, at 12:00 PM MT
