The ICR currently funds 16 research projects around the state on wide-ranging topics for the benefit of Colorado residents. Topics include public health, biology, pharmacology, biotechnologies, societal impacts and agriculture. In addition the ICR conducts its own research in its laboratories at CSU Pueblo. The outcomes of research facilitated by the ICR have included presentations at national and international symposiums and conferences, technical reports, and journal publications.
In November of 2026 the ICR hosted the COLORADO CANNABIS RESEARCH ROUNDTABLE event in Denver.
The event brought together top leaders from Colorado cannabis research, government-policymaking, and industry for the purpose of identifying the highest priorities for cannabis research needed to best serve the citizens of Colorado by providing scientific guidance for cannabis medicine, industry and public health and safety.
